Registration Days are Coming *** NEW ***
Our annual registration days will be held at the Cloverdale Ball Park Clubhouse (17333 - 61A Avenue) on Saturday January 10th & Sunday January 11th from 10:00am - 2:00pm. However, we are now also accepting 2009 early registration by mail.
A change for this year is that when it comes to doing volunteer duty you now have a choice. At registration time, you can include a $100 "Volunteer Duty Deposit Cheque" (which gets torn up once you complete a volunteer shift in the concession, take a coaching position, or take another volunteer position that qualifies as fulfilling the volunteer obligation), or you can "opt out" of doing volunteer duty by including a $60 "Volunteer Duty Opt-Out Cheque" (dated the same as your registration cheque). The money from the opt out cheques will allow us to hire people to fill concession shift when we are short of volunteer workers. The $100 deposit cheques, for those who did not fulfill their volunteer duty, will now be cashed the day before the AGM in June.

NCCP Coaching Certification Update *** UPDATED ***
Coaches who hold NCCP Certification levels in the "old" NCCP have now have until June 30th 2009 to complete the online Making Ethical Decisions Evaluation if you wish to be granted with status in new NCCP (this is the only way that your old certification will be "grandfathered"). This is an extension from December 31, 2008 but we would still recommend that you do it sooner rather than later.
To take the online evaluation you must have a password to login to the NCCP database, which is the same password you would use to check your check your certification status (by entering your NCCP CC#). To get your password if you don't have one already, you will need to email coach@coach.ca.
If you would like to review the course material for Making Ethical Decisions prior to doing the online evaluations, you can down load it here: EthicalCoaching.pdf.
For more information see the NCCP Migration Policy on the Baseball BC web site.

BC Minor Rule Changes for 2009
The documents below contain the motions for rule changes that were passed at the recent BC Minor AGM. There are still over 20 motions to be dealt with at an upcoming special meeting, on January 10th at 12:30pm at the Ramada Guidford hotel.
Coaches should carefully study the new Pitch Count Rules, as they are going to become a very important part of the game starting next season.

BC Minor Disciplinary Actions
In response to the events that transpired at the 2008 Mosquito A Provincials in Newton, where the Cloverdale team withdrew from the semi-final match in protest of ineligible players on the Abbotsford team, BC Minor has brought forth a decision to fine Cloverdale Minor Baseball $1000 and to suspend Coach Arabsky for the entire 2009 Summer Ball season.
Cloverdale Minor Baseball has filed an appeal of both decisions. You can read the BC Minor ruling and the Cloverdale Baseball appeal below.

Hall of Champions
I'm working on building a Hall of Champions page to celebrate all Cloverdale Minor Baseball teams who have won Gold, Silver or Bronze medals at Provincials, Westerns or Nationals.
I have the information for the past few years, but need historic information about past teams. If you have information about a past gold, silver or bronze medal winning team that is not featured on the Hall of Champions page, please let me know.
I would like to know the year, division and medal won, plus if possible a picture of the winning team (displaying their medals) and the names of the coaches and players in the picture.
