Bantam AAA Development Team Coach Position *** NEW ***
As we have decided to expand our search criteria to accept Parent Coach applications for our second Bantam AAA team, we will consider new applications until the Thursday February 9th final deadline.
Within the framework of the Cloverdale Spurs Bantam AAA program, the coaching staff will provide ongoing development of Bantam age players to help them achieve a high level of skills and teach them the values of discipline and sportsmanship. The Bantam AAA season starts in February with team selection try-outs and includes between 70 and 80 league, tournament and exhibition games throughout BC and Washington State. The season usually concludes with the BC Championships in early August.
The ideal candidate is someone who is prepared to put in the necessary amount of time and energy required to coach young baseball players, enjoys teaching the game, exhibits patience, and will promote a safe and positive baseball environment.
Successful candidate must complete their NCCP coaching certification and go through the standard Cloverdale Minor Baseball Security Background Check.

Coach, Player & Parent Clinic - Thursday April 5 *** NEW ***
Cloverdale Minor Baseball has been granted a Coach, Player & Parent clinic, as a stop on the 2012 Travelling Roadshow being hosted by BC Minor Baseball.
This FREE clinic is unique as it involves coaches, players and parents.
The clinic will take place on Thursday April 5, from 5:00pm to 8:30pm, at Cloverdale Ball Park.
Coaches will attend the entire clinic to work with the kids on the field, and will learn how to run practice drills.
You will be taught by Pete Caliendo (www.caliendosportsinternational.com/CSI/StaffBios.html) in a hands-on highly interactive clinic.
Any coach who has not yet started their NCCP certification may acheive their Initation Coach level certification by attending this clinic (but must first register for and complete the NCCP Online Component, for which CMBA will reimburse the $37.45 cost).
Players will attend either from 5:00pm-6:30pm for T-Ball to Tadpole, or 6:30pm-8:30pm for Mosquito and Pee Wee.
The players will be split into groups and run through various stations working on a variety of skills.
Parents will be entertained and informed by renowned local speaker Chris Johnson (www.drlaugh.com/bio.htm).
After dropping your kids off for their clinic session, just proceed to the clubhouse for a great presentation!

Umpire Clinics for 2012 Season *** UPDATED ***
All umpires who will umpire games in Cloverdale in the 2012 season MUST HAVE their BCBUA certification that is up to date and valid for the 2012 season.
For Cloverdale umpires (those who will primarily be umpiring games for CMBA during the 2012 season) the cost of the clinics if FREE, any other umpires attending our clinics will be required to pay $25 for Level 1 or $50 for Level 2.
We are offering clinics for two levels, Level 1 for umpires who will be working Mosquito games (typically Pee Wee aged players) or Tadpole games (typically 2nd year Mosquito players) who are new to umpiring or only umpired for the first time last season, and Level 2 for all umpires who will be umpiring Pee Wee or higher games or have already umpired for 2 or more seasons.
Each clinic is divided into 3 parts, a technical session to be held in a gym, and two classroom sessions. You must attend all 3 sessions.
| Level 1 |
| Day | Date | Time | Session | Location |
| Sunday | March 4 | 9:00am-12:30pm | Level 1 Technical | Martha Currie Gym |
| Monday | March 5 | 6:00pm-7:30pm | Level 1 Classroom Part 1 | Cloverdale Batting Cage |
| Tuesday | March 6 | 6:00pm-7:30pm | Level 1 Classroom Part 2 | Cloverdale Batting Cage |
| Level 2 - #1 |
| Day | Date | Time | Session | Location |
| Saturday | March 3 | 9:00am-12:30pm | Level 2 Technical | Martha Currie Gym |
| Monday | March 5 | 7:30pm-9:00pm | Level 2 Classroom Part 1 | Cloverdale Batting Cage |
| Wednesday | March 7 | 6:00pm-7:30pm | Level 2 Classroom Part 2 | Cloverdale Batting Cage |
| Level 2 - #2 |
| Day | Date | Time | Session | Location |
| Saturday | March 3 | 1:00pm-4:30pm | Level 2 Technical | Martha Currie Gym |
| Tuesday | March 6 | 7:30pm-9:00pm | Level 2 Classroom Part 1 | Cloverdale Batting Cage |
| Wednesday | March 7 | 7:30pm-9:00pm | Level 2 Classroom Part 2 | Cloverdale Batting Cage |
To balance out the two Level 2 clinics, we would like the younger umpires (Pee Wee or Bantam aged players) to attend #1 and older umpires to attend #2.
However the import thing is that you do attend all 3 required sessions, so if you must attend the other, or must mix and match sessions between the two, then that will be acceptable.
Please show up 1/2 hour early for the gym sessions, as you must fill out a registration card prior to the session!
If you are unable to attend the clinics we are offering, you may attend clinics hosted by other associations. CMBA will reimburse the cost for all Cloverdale umpires.
Any questions should be directed to our UIC Brian Wainwright at wainer1102@yahoo.ca.
