Volunteer Times and Info
The parents of each child help the association by volunteering for a variety of positions or duties,
the most common being to perform a shift within the concession.
At registration time, you can select to include a $100 "Volunteer Duty Deposit Cheque"
(which gets torn up once you complete a volunteer shift in the concession, take a coaching position, or take another volunteer position that qualifies as fulfilling your volunteer obligation),
or you can "opt-out" of doing volunteer duty by including a $60 "Volunteer Duty Opt-Out Cheque" (dated the same as your registration cheque).
The money from the opt out cheques will allow us to hire people to fill concession shift when we are short of volunteer workers.
The $100 deposit cheques, for those who did not fulfill their volunteer duty, will now be cashed the day before the AGM in June.
Families with 2 or more children on the same team must do a shift for each
child. As the Coaches are already giving a lot of their time, our league policy is that
the Head Coach and 2 Assistants are exempt from concession duty.
A concession shift runs approximately 4 hours. You must be in
the concession ˝ hour before the assigned time. There is always a shift manager
on duty to help train and answer any questions. The non-concession volunteer shifts
will be posted and available for sign up when they have been organized.
With the amount of work to be done during the season, we could
not do it without the parents efforts and their volunteer time. The money made
from the concession is used to pay the umpires and without it our registration
fees would be much higher.
Please contact the Concession Manager for more information.
Note 1: There are no exemptions from performing volunteer duty for any parents, other than through the opt out process above.
Note 2: The "opt-out" exemption does not exempt you from performing "team" duties, such as scorekeeping or performing field maintenance before or after games.
Note 3: The "opt-out" exemption does not exempt you from performing duties (concession or field maintenance) which may be required if your team is a host team playing in a Cloverdale tournament.

Uniforms
Cloverdale Minor Baseball supplies uniforms to all it’s players.
Blastball and T-Ball will receive a hat and a t-shirt that they may keep. All other divisions
are provided a shirt (jersey), pants and a hat. The hat is kept by the player.
A $100 cheque dated June 15 is required at Registration. This cheque is cashed
if your uniform is not returned by the end of June.
Uniforms are given to the Coach and are distributed by the Coach
or Team Manager to the players. The Coach or Team Manager is responsible for
recording the size and number on jersey and the size of pants
for each team player on the sheet provided by the Equipment Manager
and returning it when completed.
At the end of the season, Coaches or Team Manager will collect
the uniforms back and return them to the Equipment Manager.
Remember, failure to return the uniform will result in the player’s deposit cheque being cashed.
Due to hygiene reasons, we do not supply batting helmets.
Also, it is required that all players wear athletic protective equipment (i.e. jocks & jills) for games and practices.
Summer Ball Registration
Prior to registering for summer ball, you must attend tryouts for a team at the appropriate level in your age division.
After you have been selected to play on a Summer Ball team, you must complete the Summer Ball Registration form, and return it to the team's coach along with a copy of the player's birth certificate.
Out of Catchment Registrations
BC Minor Baseball has strict rules that cover player registrations,
specifically when it comes to registering in a association other than that whose boundaries you live in.
You can review the boundaries of Cloverdale and neighbouring associations on our Association Boundaries page.
If you live outside of Cloverdale's boundaries you must register and play in the association within whose boundaries you reside.
For further information please see Rule 11 in the BC Minor Baseball Association Rule Book.
Please note that a different process is in place if you intend on trying out for Bantam AAA or Midget AAA, or any other level of baseball not offered by your home association.
BC Minor Baseball
BC Minor Baseball is the Provincial governing body for Cloverdale Minor Baseball.
Every player who is registered in CMBA is also registered with BC Minor.
In addition to providing common rules of play and Provincial Championship play,
BC Minor also provides liability insurance for their member associations,
which comes from each player’s registration fees.
