Q: Do we have to live in Cloverdale to play for CMBA?

Cloverdale Minor is governed by boundaries that are set out by BC Minor.  If you reside outside these boundaries then a release form will be required from your area's current catchment Association President and the CMBA President.

Cloverdale Minor Baseball's catchment area is now defined as:

  • The northern boundary is 76 Avenue from 152 Street in the west to 172 Street, north along 172 Street to 88 Avenue, and along 88 Avenue to 196 Street in the east.
  • The western boundary is 152 Street from 76 Avenue in the north to 40 Avenue in the south.
  • The eastern boundary is 196 Street from 88 Avenue in the north to 40 Avenue in the south.
  • The southern boundary follows the Earl Marriott Secondary School boundary, of 40 Avenue from 196 Street in the east to 176 Street, then angling northwest to intersect the Serpentine River and following the Serpentine River to 152 Street in the west.

Click here to see a map of Cloverdale's, Surrey Canadian's, and Newton's boundaries.

Please note that for Challenger Division, there are no geographic boundaries.  Players can live in any association catchment and play for Cloverdale.

The online registration session for the Spring Season will open in mid-December of the year prior. An email notification will go out through the system accounts to notifiy users when Registration is open.

Once you have completed the on-line registration process on you will need to print off the receipt and submit the form and any necessary cheques as outlined during the process.

The form and cheques can mailed in or dropped off at our Registration Days in January at the Cloverdale Ball Park Clubhouse.

Q: What if I deferred my child's 2020 Spring fees?

The following options are available to (non-single season) players:

  1. You can ask for a 85% refund for spring 2020 fees if your child is not playing for the 2021 Spring Season.

                 OR

  1. 100% deferral of fees from the 2020 Spring season will be applied towards 2021 Base Spring fees **This will cover your players 2021 base spring fees EVEN if they increase or you are moving to a higher division**  Please ensure you select the appropriate prompts and chose to "PAY OFFLINE".

We understand that some may wonder why the refund amount is 85% of the Registration fees.  However, prior to starting each season there are expenses that are incurred that can not be carried forward to future seasons.  While items like baseballs and hats can be carried forward there are other expenses like coach development, insurance, facility rentals for assessments, website & advertising costs, etc. that cannot.  By retaining a small portion of the fees (or allowing deferrals) this ensures that Cloverdale Minor Baseball is in a viable position to offer baseball to the youth of Cloverdale in future years.

Q: What cheque(s) do I need for registration?

If you selected the off-line payment option during the registration process, you will need to provide up to three cheques for registration per child:

  • Player’s Registration Fee - made payable to CMBA, dated for the current date and include the 'Order Number' from the registration confirmation on the cheque (Multiple registrations can be combined into 1 cheque).
